“OROPEDIO” meaning “High Plateau” in Greek is a wine underlining the ultimate expression of the indigenous Moschofilero variety. Grown at an altitude of 650m in the region of Mantinia, centre of the Peloponnese, in southern Greece. The grapes are sheltered by the mountains that surround the “plateau” which allows for the development of their delicate aromas. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted in order to guarantee their excellent quality. During the vinification process, the method of cold-soak maceration is applied prior to fermentation which is initiated with specifically selected yeast strains. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature in the range of 12 – 18 degrees celcius and after racking the wine is transferred to oak barrels for a very short stay. There stirring of the lees inside the barrels gives the wine its unique smoothness and richness.

The wine has a deep pale yellow gold hue, with aromas of wild white roses, citrus combined with a hint of grapefruit. On the palate, a very food-friendly wine, opulent with a rich mouthfeel, good acidity which gives it extra freshness, with a long and lingering finish.
